Separation Blues

I am a very lucky Mama. I have family and friends that are obsessed with my Suzy. I get at least one night a week off. Gigi always want to get Suzy one night a week/weekend. On those nights I usually catch up on stuff for our store, run errands, grocery shop, or have dinner with the girls. This summer Gigi has kept Suzy more than usual. I am not complaining about this one bit. I enjoy getting adult time. It is nice to have grown up conversations and weekend getaways. This past weekend Scott and I loaded up and met my friend from work and his wife at the lake house. Mom and dad came later that Friday night. We did absolutely nothing but lay out in the sun and eat good food. I enjoyed our weekend, but I couldn't get home fast enough. I missed that little rascal so much. I feel like the longer the summer drags on, the worse my attachment issues get.
This is "Hollywood". We had to take this picture on the lake to send to our other partner in crime, Burnsey. We have too much fun at work. Scott and I love him and his wife Lindsay. We have a ball every time we do anything with them. They are loads of fun.
We came home from the lake to spend the week with Suzy. Scott took a week's vacation to spend some time with both of us. We had so much fun this week, but it was soooooo hot outside that it was hard to even bare the humidity. I was feeling a little under the weather all week, too. I was feeling so icky that I finally took a pregnancy test at the end of the week. It was negative, of course. I am quick to take a test. I am terrified that I will end up pregnant before I am ready to have another baby. God's plans aren't always what I think my plans are, hahaha. We spent a lot of time outside at the end of the week. Scott was getting ready to go on his Father's Day Trip (that's another blog), so he wanted to get his truck cleaned up. Suzy thoroughly enjoyed helping Daddy wash his truck!

She took a break and headed to her golf cart.... pretty girl.

I wanna drink, Daddy!!!

Scott also got to see the real Suzy while he was home with us for such a long week. Suzy is extremely clingy. She loooves her Mama. She is attached to me at all times when we are home together. She is under my feet all day everyday.I cannot even go to the bathroom without her. He found her behavior humorous and troubling all at the same time. He admits that we are both going to have some major problems when I have to go back to work in August.
We watch TV and draw together......

We both eat at her little toddler table......

Go outside together.....

Another morning outside......

Go to the pool together........
She had been helping me cut limbs, cut the grass, and weed the flower beds that day!
We do everything together. I have really become clingy myself. I used to take Suzy to daycare two days a week, but I haven't been able to let her go lately. I always talk myself out of it, so my house stays a disaster and I get nothing accomplished. I do play A LOT though. I wouldn't trade our play time for anything. My house can stay dirty for all I care. It makes anxious having a house out of order all the time, but it just isn't worth sacrificing my time with Suzy.
I had swept and mopped about 10 mins prior to taking this picture..... Point proven.

Suzy has got me right where she wants me.... I give in to her way too much. I just cannot help it. I don't know what my problem is. I was so strict and stern with her when she was a little one, but as she gets older I start getting mushy. I know I was a good Mama when she was a baby, but I feel like I am a much better Mama now. I don't know if it took me half a year to get used to the idea of being a mama, I was too worried about following the rules, or if I am just a better mama because she is able to do more. I can't answer that question, but I have so much fun with her. She is hilarious to me. She talks to me, tells me what she wants and does not want, and plays until she cannot play anymore. Gosh, I can't imagine life without her.
A brand new ball, a Sprite from Shell, and a Ring Pop... I told ya, she has got me riiiiight where she wants me!!

She loves to feed Toddy everyday.
We went to Lowe's with Papaw, Mimi, and KK one night. After Lowe's we headed to Wal-Mart so dad could get a few things for his office. When we walked in the door he said, "let's go to the toy section"... we followed his lead... This is what we ended up with.
An electric four wheeler. She picked it out herself. There was a purple one, a red one, and a brown towmater... She picked pink instead. I wouldn't have ever picked pink. She's a rebel already :)
She has everyone right where she wants them..... Everyone drops what they are doing to watch her or entertain her. She is our world. We were some boring people before she came along.
Going with Papaw to get some tools from his trailer.
Gigi had Suzy Saturday and asked to keep her again Saturday night. I told her that it was fine for her to spend the night again. I headed to Batesville with Lauren and KK to watch KK's niece play softball. They had a game at six and another one following at eight. After the six o'clock game I left KK with Lauren and headed home. By the time I had gotten to Sardis I had decided I was going to get Suzy. I couldn't take another night away from her.... I'M RUINED!!
