This past weekend was such a fun one. Two of our
dear friends, Monica and Walker, tied the knot in Como. We were all so thrilled
to hear the news that they had gotten engaged, but even more excited when they
had set an official date. Walker and I were in school at the same time and
experienced a lot of fun things together (parties, football games, driving,
etc.) Monica came back home to Senatobia later in life. With her short time of
being here (compared to us Senatobians) she became a very good friend of mine.
Not only are Monica and Walker great friends, but they have a little bitty that
Suzy will grow up with named Mason. I hope that Suzy and Mason experience many
fun things together, but stay out of trouble (unlike Walker and I did). Lord
knows that with all these babies in our group of friends that we will have our
hands full.
Friday night we had rehearsal at 211 Main and the
Rehearsal Dinner was at the Como Inn. Everything was just lovely. We were
treated to chicken or steak, salads, cheesecake, and baked potatoes. I could
have taken the left over salads and desserts home with me and eaten all night.
While we were at the Rehearsal Dinner Suzy was with Mimi and Papaw. After the
dinner we all ventured down to Windy City to catch up. Rehearsal Dinners are
always my favorite part of the wedding because it is a closer group of friends
that are in an intimate setting. It just feels like everyone gets to really catch
up on everyone's lives.
When we got home from the events Friday night I
informed Scott that I was going to sleep in Saturday morning and I didn't want
any interruptions. I am pleased to say that he actually listened to my request.
I slept until eleven o'clock. Yes, that's right... eleven o'clock. Since I slept the day away it didn't leave me
much time to do the normal Saturday stuff, but I did manage to get my hair
done, myself dressed, Suzy's bag packed, and Suzy dressed. I was a bit anxious
about taking Sue Baby to the wedding. I was stressing that she would get antsy
or start talking or crying during the ceremony, but I bit the bullet and took
her anyway. We had plans for her to go home with Gigi when it was getting close
to bedtime. We made it to the wedding just in time for the 4:30 start time. Since
it was raining they didn't start the wedding on time. They were hoping the rain
would pass, but it didn't. They were troopers and got married outside in the
rain. Everything was still beautiful! Monica looked gorgeous, as always. It was
a very special day and we are thrilled for Mr. and Mrs. Spier.
My sweet friend, Sally. I wish we had more time to spend together. |

Pops came to help them get all the food prepared for the dinner. Of course, I snag him for a photo in front of the bathroom.... Real tacky, eh? |

The lovely couple making the best of the weather. Rain on your wedding day is such good luck. She was absolutely stunning. |
