Christmas Parade and Book Month!

Our sweet little town of Senatobia has Christmas Parade every year. They usually host it on the first Monday in Decemeber. It just so happened that this year the first Monday was like 70 degrees. We were at the parade in long sleeve t shirts, no jackets, and no blankets. The weather made it feel less like Christmas, but it was still fun! Suzy had never been to a Christmas Parade before, because I was too scared to get her off her schedule last year. Mimi talked me into breaking the rules this year, so Suzy was past her normal 7:00 bedtime! We met Mimi and KK at Mimi's house, then headed to NWCC to Mimi's office. They were having a pre-parade gathering with snacks and such. While we were there, one of Suzy's BFFs came by. Avery Davis goes to Tattle Tales with Suzy and they are big buddies. Avery's mama and daddy are BACC members, so we are fortunate to see them quite often. Zabe, Avery's daddy, enjoys playing golf. Kristina, her mama, is a runner so we have lots of things to talk about.
Suzy having a nice little snack while we wait for the festivities to begin.

Of course, Avery had to have a cookie too :)

The sweet doll baby, Avery!

Concentrating very hard on something!

Those blue eyes melt my heart!

Suzys' Oakey had just brought her a handful of candy! She was pumped!!

hmmmmmmmm!

Waiting for Santa to come by!

Suzy really liked her buddy Sarah Dixon! They had laid out all her loot and had suckers together!

Hugs bye!

I wanted to start a new tradition with Suzy this year. She is absolutely obsessed with books and reading. She really needed no more toys for Christmas, but what's Christmas without toys for the kiddos, huh? Well, she got toys at Christmas from the immediate family. But, she got a book every single night in December from a close family member or friend. Her Elf left her a book each night. Inside the book, she had a handwritten note from someone that's very special to her. Suzy got an awesome collection of books from her friends and family! She loved looking for her Elf to see which book he had brought her. She is a very lucky girl to have so many people who love her so much.
The first night of book giving came from Mammie and Pappy. She almost had a complete meltdown when she saw what Elf had done to her present!

Ohhhhhh no!

Suzy even got books from her puppies and kitty. They love her, so it was just fitting that they leave her a book about animals, right? Laurie gave her books about shoes and tutus, KK gave her "Santa Comes to Mississippi", Gigi gave her fun books about stuff she likes to do at her house, Papaw gave her "Sheep in the Jeep", Mimi gave her cute Ladybug girl books, Mama B sent her a Dr. Suess book from Starkville, BB and Vivi gave her a cute Mickey Mouse book, and the list goes on and on and on.... She got 25 books, and loved every single one of them!
I am already thinking about which book I want to get her next year! She may need a bigger bookshelf! :)
