Family- Papaw

It has been absolutely gorgeous this week. The weather has been lovely enough for us to spend some time outside. We went to the Methodist Church's park one day with Jill, Ford, and Chevy. Suzy was obsessed with the slide, and Ford was obsessed with anything "boy".

The day after that we went to see Papaw at the shop. I stuck Suzy in Casey's dragster and she played for an eternity. She loved it. I joked on Facebook that the dragster was the "Geeslin PlayPen", but it really isn't a joke. Not. One. Bit. Then, yesterday we went to Mimi and Papaw's house for a little play time before we had to go home to get ready for the next day. That leads me to my topic of this blog... My dad.

Do you see that he loves cars and Suzy? Well, that is no joke. He lets her get away with murder, and will do anything he "thinks" she may want him to do whether it will tick me off or not. Who am I, anyway? Even though I am the Mama, he doesn't care. He will do whatever it takes to make sure that she is spoiled rotten by him. The problem arises when he gets her all fired up, and then sends her home with me. Him and Pops are in a competition to see who Suzy is going to like better.... The child will never have to worry about not recieving enough love.

 

Things Papaw does to spoil Suzy:

1. He lets her drink his Coke or Pepsi. Not just a little.... However much she wants. I am constantly whining in the background about him not letting her partake, but he never slacks up.
2. Gives her whatever food he is eating. It could be a chocolate chip cookie, a hamburger, or whatever. He doesn't care if it is full of sugar! Why, you may ask?? Well, because he doesn't have to put her to sleep at night.
3. Uncle Pasty can vouch for me on this one: When we were little if we even got near a car or anything that had paint on it, and THOUGHT about touching it he was throwing a fit. When we were at the shop the other day playing in the dragster I looked down the front of it.... Fingerprings EVERYWHERE. If that would have been Casey or I.... Oh boy... We would have gotten it. We would have gotten it big time. What did he say to Suzy? Absolutely nothing.
4. He takes her riding on his toys, pushes her around in her cars, etc.
5. Buys her a happy when he goes out of town, and comes back talking about all the stuff that she WILL have one day. For example: those little mini hot rod cars

I  He is infatuated with her, her happiness, and he wants her to love nothing more than cars.

I keep trying to tell her that she needs a convertible or a Jeep. Maybe by this summer she will have him talked into it. She needs Vitamin D therapy while Mama is out of school for summer, don't you think?

See.... She is already so good at driving, why should she spend the summer without more practice?
