Happy Birthday, Laurie!!!

I met Lauren LaVergne my first year teaching at Como Elementary School. I will be totally honest… I DID NOT like Lauren when I first met her. She was mean to me. When I told her what class I would be teaching she laughed in my face, and said, “Gooooood Luck”…. The heifer didn’t think I could handle them. Within the next three years I had the same group of kids, and a best friend named Lauren LaVergne. The girl that I despised became my very best friend. We have been on several trips together, spent many nights at the lake, had numerous slumber parties, and spent many a minute with each other.
Scott is always surrounded by us. He must feel like he has two wives.

We even had to go on field trips together. I had to supervise!

She and Taylor went with me to see Scott in North Carolina over Spring Break one year before Suzy came along.
She is the girl that I talk to when I have had enough and am at my breaking point, or when I am happy beyond words. She has always been there to listen to me rant and rave in a ticked off "Wanda" fit or laugh hysterically. If anyone is as lucky as I am to share the bond with another human being like the bond I share with Lauren you are truly, truly blessed.
Post Suzy beach trip!

We had a ball at The Color Run! She doesn't even look Caucasian, does she?

The only thing that could have made our relationship stronger is the bond that is shared between her and Suzy. Lauren was with me when I went to the doctor to find out that I was pregnant, she and JoAnne planned my gender reveal party (so she knew what I was having before I knew), she bought more outfits for Sue Baby than I did when we went shopping, helped to plan my baby shower, bought me my first Baby Name book, helped me decide on the name Ella Suzanne Smith, and she was there when Suzy was delivered. We may be the reason she may never have children.........
Gender Reveal Party that Lauren and JoAnne put together.

She was one of my hostesses at my baby shower.

She said it  was quite the experience. She was up close and center with the whole delivery…… That’s a good friend (or either she is grossly nosey).  Suzy and Lauren are in love with each other. It may because Lauren was the first blubbering baby Suzy saw when she came from my body, or it could be that Suzy was the first blubbering baby that Lauren had seen come from my body…. Whatever the case may be, Lauren LaVergne is one of Suzy’s favorite people. I honestly think the bond that Lauren and Suzy share makes Lauren that much more important and irreplaceable to me.
She pulled it together and quit crying long enough to kiss her and start crying again. Delivery Day.

My sweet, sweet friends with my sweet, sweet Sue.

They were even nice enough to take this photo of my rear as I was walking to see Suzy in the nursery. I was not aware I was showing so much skin... It was way worse in person. Thanks pal.

Laurie and Suzy at suppertime!

Of course, she had to make sure Suzy supported the Aggies!
A person always has friends in their life that are good friends, but you just aren’t quite sure you would want them to raise your child if something were to happen to you. Scott and I have some friends that we adore more than anything, but we don’t want Suzy to be responsible for raising them if we pass (get my drift?). Lauren, on the other hand, is exactly the person we would want to raise our Sweet Sue Baby. Scott, Suzy, and I love that girl more than she will ever know. We know that she would do exactly what we would want for Suzy. The only thing that will be a massive problem is how bad she would be spoiled. If something were to happen to Scott and I (Heaven forbid it does), you will hear about the  rotten wild child that Lauren LaVergne is raising!

I told you... Suzy is just like her Laurie. She thinks she must be glamorous at all times.
Today is Lauren’s birthday. I was trying to write in her little birthday card how much we loved her, but there just wasn’t enough room!! I figured my blog may be just the answer!
Laurie's princess. Point proven.

Growing Girl

Suzy is doing all sorts of funny things these days. She has quite the personality, to say the least. I don’t know where she gets that from?! Her daddy is “Mr. Social”, and I am not the shyest person in town either. She is absolutely hilarious. I know that I am probably a little biased, but I could watch her and laugh at her all day long!

These pictures are from the same day we played outside all day during Spring Break, but they were tooooo funny not to share!

No, it is not opened! She would have reallllly loved that!!

Big girl had her flower along for the ride!
Sequence of events- The pictures tell the story!!

I took her inside to change clothes and grab a quick snack! She was satisfied.

She loooooooves her KK! Notice the fingernail file that she has hidden under her hiney... She is really hiding it well, isn't she?!

           -  I can say, “Suzy, are you a bad girl?”. Suzy will shake her head yes and say, “Baaaaaaad”.
·        -  She thinks that all dogs are named: wowwwwa (Lola) or Beeeewwwa (Bella).
·         - All cats have the same name: “CAAAAT”
·         - If she sees a cow on anything (a book, yogurt package, etc.) she will say, “Mooooooo”.

·         Her favorite things are:
o       Shoes- she says shoe and will go get her shoes when I tell her it is time to go
o        Toothbrushes- she loves to sit in the bathroom sink and brush her teeth like a big girl. Laurie always lets her do that while I am getting ready to go somewhere. She also totes around a toothbrush and “brushes her teeth” throughout the day.
o       Snacks- she goes to the cabinet that houses all her “goodies” and grabs whatever she wants. Suzy’s cabinet consists of Nutri-Grain Bars, animal crackers, Ritz cheese bitz, yogurt/applesauce sqeezeables, etc. She thinks she needs something in her hand to eat at all times.
o       Purses and Boxes- she is very big into organizing things right now. All her toys, blocks, books, etc. belong in a basket or a purse. She puts the most random things in the most random places. At least she is somewhat picking up after herself. She will sling that purse up her arm and priss across the house like she is the queen!
o       Books- she is still a huge fan of books- She will grab a book and sit in anyone’s lap and read for as long as you will read to her. She points, laughs, and nods while you read to her. Let’s hope she gets some good word recognition and vocabulary skills from the many stories we read to her. I think her favorite book right now is, The Wheels on the Bus. She likes it when the mama’s go, “shhhh, shhhh, shhhhh”, the babies go, “waaaahhhh, waaaahhh, waaaaah”, and the people go up and down the most!

Being silly after her bath one night!
She is doing so much now it is hard for me to even keep up with it myself. I know that her most recent accomplishments are: drinking out of a Capri Sun pouch by herself, blowing kisses, saying PawPaw, saying Thank You, and trying to hardest to jump. She runs full speed and has her head down the whole time. I don’t know what that is all about, but it looks like she is charging at whatever she is running towards.
She wears a size 4 shoe, 18-24 month clothes, and she is very short. We knew she was shorter than average, but when Jill brought Chevy over (he is 9 mos old) and Suzy was only a couple centimeters taller than him our suspicions were confirmed. She also wore her first pair of shorts on Easter. They came well past her knee caps. Maybe she will grow taller as she gets older, but I will tell you… I think she is going to be a little girl! J
KK, Laurie, and I took her on a "junking" excursion one Saturday. We went to Kilgore's in Hernando, which is a junk hunter's dream.... Out of all the mess in that establishment she left there with this Mickey Mouse from who knows where and a Pez dispenser. The man GAVE them to her. Gee, thanks pal, that's just what I wanted.... We had to hurry home to wash Mouse before she got too attached.

She also had her very first trip to The Dip in Hernando. She got something called a Snow. It was a slush and a milk shake mixed together. She got strawberry banana! She sucked it down! The only thing she didn't like was when a fresh piece of strawberry would clog her straw! She finished probably half of that cup before giving up!
