The Past Year- Part 1

January
I woke up one morning believing that I had lost all control over my bowels, and a few hours later introduced our sweet Sue Baby into the world. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 5 ounces. All 20 inches of her was sheer perfection.

Within the first month of  Suzy's life she enjoyed many fun things. Some of which included taking baths, Daddy being her beautician, and having breakfast with Veazy.

She lost every single bit of that hair that she was born with. She had more then than she does now.

Sweet Veazy Williams shared pancakes, songs, and love with Suzy this cold January morning.

Suzy was also faced with some pretty tough things in January. She had to learn out to poop, decide whether she wanted breast milk or formula. She chose formula after a couple weeks. She also had to endure the "rice cereal nightmare" that I put her through. Three week olds are not cut out for rice cereal. She also put Rachel, our lovely photographer, through the ringer for newborn pictures. It was 2 hours of sheer hell trying to get some memories captured, but Rachel was successful!

February
We got to celebrate Valentine's Day in the sweet month of February. Going hand in hand with the month of love, Suzy got to go on her first date with her future husband, Easten Mahan. She started sleeping from 11:30 PM to 5:00 AM and would drink 5 ounces every 3 hours during the day. I also had to go back to work in the middle of the month, which was extremely difficult.
I must have been boring to her.

Her present from her Daddy was that sweet hippo and blanket.

They are meant to be together.

March
Suzy's sleeping habits started changing, and she decided that she was too big for naps. Jill introduced me to Babywise, and we started implementing that. Thank the Lord for that book.
-She started sleeping from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM.
Spring Break at school was in March, so we all piled up and went to the Lake House for the week.
The little stinker started using inappropriate hand gestures in March, too.

Starting to really "fatten" up.

My Babywise obsessiveness to extreme.

Yes, I still label everything.

Suzy's eye was still "turning in" and I was freaked out by it on a daily basis. The doctors assured me that nothing was wrong, but I just couldn't believe them.
 April
My wee little Suzy went from being a 6 pounder to a 14 pounder. She started sleeping from 7:30 PM-6:30 AM. I would have to wake her up to go to Memaw's house in the mornings. She started struggling with nap time again, but eventually got it figured all back out for herself.
- Scott and I became members of the country club, and drug Sue Baby along with us many afternoons to soak up some sunshine. She loved to ride the golf cart before supper.
- Gigi insisted that Suzy participate in the Easter Pageant in Arkabutla. I told that I wasn't thrilled about the idea, but that I would let her enter Suzy. That was hopefully the first and last time that Suzy will have to do that. I just don't really get into the whole pageant thing for babies.
